Hull’s Modern Music Icons – A portrait collection by Calvin Innes

My latest exhibition opens on the 4th August 2016 to coincide with the opening of Butler Whites, a new bar in Hull’s Fruit Market, and the return of Humber Street Sesh, Hull’s biggest and best street festival.

The exhibition, ‘Hull’s Modern Music Icons’ is a collection of abstract, street art an comic book inspired portraits, depicting some of Hull’s most influential current musicians, promoters and those who champion music in and around the city. The initial showing will include nine mixed media canvases. This will grow to a total of fifteen canvases as the touring exhibition moves around the city to various different venues.

I work in a variety of media and often mix different media to create my artworks. Acrylics, oil, spray paint, collage and stencils are all used individually or all come together to form my paintings. I have exhibited my work at a number of venues across the UK and regularly undertake commissions from private buyers.

You can also catch me painting live now and again at  Furley & Co on Princes Dock Street in Hull (where several pieces of my work is also exhibited) as part of the Speak Easy.

Many of my original paintings and prints are available to buy from The Calvin Innes Store.

If you would like to commission an original painting please get in touch with me via my Contact Page.
